Hello and thank you for this site. I recently watched a move called the The Hunting Party. Olivers character made me feel in such a way that I wanted to play the part of Candice.... next to his side. The rough ruggedness with so much passion gave me a moments crush on a man that has passed. So powerfully handsome. I had to look this actor up. I was so saddened to see that he is no longer alive. He died very young. I had seen Gladiator years ago but did not know nor saw the man I saw in this movie. I recall some of the movies in my youth but this man would be my Father's age now. I am definitely going to rent more of his movies. What a heartthrob. He looks very much like an actor that played on Greys Anatomy a couple of seasons ago and no longer is on the show

I have always thought of Oliver Reed as a true genius of an actor. When he was on the screen, one couldn't look at anyone but him. And when he spoke he had that beautiful, mellifluous voice. He took roles that said something about human beings and his choices were brave and bold and sometimes controversial. I wish there were more actors like him today. But he was a true original and people like that only come along once in a great while. I constantly watch Turner Classic Movies here in the USA to catch a few of his movies. I'd love to see Women in Love and With A Girl Like You. I loved him in Tommy and he is my favorite werewolf (sorry Mr. Chaney) and I've even seen a long, long time ago, a film called Dr. Heckyl and Mr. Hype that never gets shown here anymore for some reason. I also watch the videos of Mr. Reed on YouTube. I can't help being both worried about him in a few of them and totally charmed by some of the others.
I believe every single person who sees one of his movies or watches him on YouTube comes to miss him very much. He seemed to embrace all aspects of life and he seemed to enjoy all that life had to offer him. But I miss him. He was such a great actor and a great and fascinating human being. 1999 and no one has ever been able to take his place. I don't believe anyone ever will. Kathi Keeney Ohio, USA |

Coming up on twelve years of losing the great actor Oliver Reed, I am so pleased there is so much info on him, when I visit you tube, and web sights. Have seen six of his movies on my computer. Many more thanks to netflix. I am one third of my way through seeing his entire library of work. Would love to see a tribute to him on TCM, MGM or some such channel. He deserves not to be forgotten. God love you, Ollie Pam...a humble fan |

What a wonderful site! I have been a huge Ollie fan for many years, mainly due to the fact that my mum always used to say that she only married my Dad because of how almost-indentical he was compared to Ollie! After watching his films and his infamous tv appearances I became to realise what an amazing actor he was, and such a character too. He always 'stole the show' and was truly a great talent in everything he did. Im very proud of my small 'Ollie' collection of films, movie posters and autographs and I just wish I could have met him in person. My family lived in the wimbledon/surrey area and my dads cousin met him once and went up to him (thinking he was actually my dad- their likeness was striking!) and was incredibly confused when Oliver said he had no idea who this woman was! So here's to you, Ollie! Fondly remembered, never forgotten. |

Such a gorgeous website, thank you for going to all this effort. So reverent, yet nothing is hidden, and the galleries are amazing. Evelyn. |

Even after all this time I always well up every time i watch 'Gladiator'. I saw a brief interview with Ollie when he was on the set and he said he thought it was one of the best of his performances, and i agree. He was quite the legend, but i feel sorry that he died when he did because i think his career would have picked up big style after 'Gladiator'; (in my opinion he completely out-acted the main cast members), no offence to any of them. I'm going to make a note of Olli's bday and death so that i might raise a glass in his honour in my favourite pubs. RIP Ollie |

Great site! Thanks for setting up such a great site! Been an Ollie fan since I saw Oliver! for the first time in my teens. Spent a lovely chilled hour or so browsing the site while listening to some classic nineties dance tunes... a random yet somehow fitting combination. It's great to read some of the interviews and especially the fan encounters. Keep up the good work! |

This web site is a wonderful tribute to Oliver Reed. I've been a fan of his since the 1960's, and still miss him all these years later. He was a part of my childhood "The Curse of the Werewolf" "Oliver !" and my teenage years "The Three Musketeers" "Tommy" and finally my adult years "Castaway" and "Gladiator". Thank you again for this site it brings back wonderful memories and of course makes me a little sad. Oliver Reed lived life on his terms and went out "Happy", I thank God for that. With my undying love, Diana Bowman Dec.2011 |
